AI second brain
A second brain is a place outside your head for the ideas, conversations and decisions you want to reuse. Tiska is an AI second brain: it builds that memory from what you share and brings the context to the assistants you already use.
What is a second brain
A second brain keeps what you learned, decided and agreed on, so you can find it and use it whenever you need it. That leaves your attention free to think, create and decide.
The term was popularized by Tiago Forte's Building a Second Brain method, which uses notes apps such as Notion, Obsidian and Evernote to capture and organize what matters.
Organizing by hand vs. letting AI organize
In the classic approach, you take notes, create folders and tags, and review everything from time to time. It's a method that works well for people who enjoy organizing by hand.
In an AI second brain, capturing and organizing happen on their own:
- AI reads the sources you choose and the conversations you ask it to save;
- it recognizes people, projects, topics, decisions and commitments, and links them together;
- it answers with the source and date of every piece of information, and says when it doesn't know.
Notion, Obsidian and Tiska
Tiska doesn't replace your notes app. They solve different problems:
| Notion | Obsidian | Tiska | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it's for | Docs, wikis and databases | Linked Markdown notes | A personal memory built by AI |
| Who organizes | You | You | AI, with your review |
| Where content comes from | What you write | What you write | Your sources and AI conversations |
| In AI assistants | Built-in AI and integrations | Community plugins | ChatGPT, Claude and MCP clients |
| Export | Markdown, HTML and PDF | Local Markdown files | Plain text and Markdown |
How Tiska works
- Connect what you want. Emails, documents, projects, or just your conversations with your assistant. Start with one source and add more later.
- Tiska builds the memory. Each record keeps the meaning, not the transcript: decisions and their reasons, commitments with owners and due dates, people and projects.
- The memory reorganizes itself. From time to time, Tiska reviews what it knows: it merges repeats, links topics and moves what lost relevance to the background, without deleting anything.
- Use it in your assistants. Connected to ChatGPT or Claude, Tiska brings the right context into each conversation, with sources.
A second brain in ChatGPT and Claude
Tiska uses MCP (Model Context Protocol), the open standard for connecting AI assistants to other tools. It works in ChatGPT, Claude and MCP clients such as Claude Code and Cursor.
Ask your assistant to save the decisions from a conversation and, days later, ask what was decided and why. See how to connect Tiska to your assistant.
Privacy and control
- You choose what goes in, and you can view, correct or delete any memory.
- Your content is not used to train AI models.
- Data is encrypted, and each memory is isolated from other accounts.
- You can export everything as plain text and Markdown whenever you want.
Frequently asked questions
Is a second brain the same as a notes app?
No. A notes app is a tool; a second brain is the practice of keeping what you want to reuse outside your head. You can do it with notes organized by hand or with a memory built by AI, like Tiska.
Do I need to switch apps to use Tiska?
No. Tiska works inside the assistants you already use and sits alongside your notes app.
Does Tiska work in other languages?
Tiska works in English and Portuguese, and replies in your account's language.
